Bayan Book Club
Join our book discussion series
Bayan is short for Bayanihan, a deeply rooted Filipino concept meaning communal unity, cooperation, and helping one another. It represents the Filipino spirit of coming together to support each other, especially in times of need. The Bayan Book Club also honors the Akan symbol of Sankofa and through the practice of reading, we reflect back to move forward as a collective.
Join our Bayan Book Club! In this series we host a community discussion via YouTube Live, highlighting different chapters of our #BookClubPick. Our goal for our book clubs is to choose books that promote soulcare & align with the work we do. The discussions are an opportunity for us to share our reflections and work through the book together. All are welcome — whether you’re reading along with us, are a fellow soulcare enthusiast, or haven’t read yet and want to join the discussion. Everyone is welcome — from avid readers to soulcare enthusiasts. We invite you to join us!

The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron
This season, we’re featuring The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron — a powerful guide to unlocking creativity and nurturing your inner artist. This book is designed as a 12-week guided program. Each week focuses on a specific theme (like recovering a sense of safety, identity, power, possibility, etc.) and includes: a chapter to read, weekly exercises, check-ins, morning pages and artist dates!
This time around, we’ll be sharing the replays so you can move through the experience at your own pace. Tune in however you like — watch each episode like your favorite TV show or press play and listen like a podcast while you’re on the go.
New this year! We’re excited to introduce an in-person gathering as part of the Bayan Book Club series. Join us for our Bayan Bookclub Communi(tea) Meetup hosted at Mantra Sukha.
